The EU project Quantitative risk assessment strategies for novel foods – in short called NOFORISK – will develop and validate the scientific methodology which is necessary for quantitative risk assessment of "second generation" of novel foods to be marketed in the EU.

Also, it will communicate the importance of the approaches to key end users – including consumers.

NOFORISK is designed to address both the risk assessment (including hazard identification, hazard characterization, exposure assessment and risk characterization) and the risk/benefit equation.

Read more about NOFORISK.

NOFORISK was funded by the Sixth Framework Porgramme, EU.

The project started January 1, 2004 and ended December 31, 2006.
